David Nickum

Fairfax, VA 22031

David S. Nickum is an inspirational fitness professional with over 7 years of in the health and wellness industry. What he brings to any workout program is deep knowledge of anatomy, nutrition and exercise physiology. His programs are unique, innovative, educational and customized to get the job done quickly. He is a cutting edge professional who makes sure builds a program that fits your goals.

Starting out in the field of automotive technology industry, David had a lot of problems with pain in the lower back and that is what led him to the world of health and wellness. David was tired of getting prescribed pills to address his problem and he knew that physical therapy would only be a short-term fix, so he decided to learn about the human body to fix the problem on his own.

Being a musician has helped David to apply an artistic approach to health and wellness because he always would tell me that “exercise is an art just as much as a science” and he was right because every human is different and needs a artistic touch to get the most out of a workout.

Throughout his career, David has developed deep knowledge about the human body. He started out only knowing the basics. Seven years later he has become a leader in the field of fitness, his designed his own style of training which works on posture, metabolism, pain management and performance.

After working with David my life has never been better, the pain in my body is gone for the first time in 10 years. After only 6 months of training I feel like a new person. I look great and feel like I got a new lease on life. He gave me the education and the tools I needed to prevent failure in the future. He gave me a new lease on life and I am thankful for that everyday.

David has been working with me for over a year and a half. I originally started with him performing myofascial release massage prior to my boot camp training sessions. This helped me perform much better at those sessions. After sustaining a tricep injury at the class (with a different instructor), I decided that I needed a personal trainer instead of group classes and David was my top choice.

David works closely with me to address and help ease my medical conditions (especially joint pain related to RA), he tailors all exercise sessions based on my restrictions and needs, and has definitely helped me get in better shape. David also provides diet and nutrition guidance and natural ways to combat my issues and improve my physical well being. David explains the various exercises and what muscles they target, and why he has me doing them. He is one of the most knowledgeable trainers I've ever had.

In addition to general personal training, David also has helped me get in better shape for golf, with targeted stability, balance, and power exercises. I am driving the golf ball farther and have a far more consistent and controlled golf swing.

It is so convenient working out in my own home. I feel I get a much better workout at home with David than at the gym. Plus it makes it easier to work out on my own since David shows me what I need to do and texts me my "home work" until our next session.

I struggled with Sacroiliac joint pain for years and thought that I would never run again. David helped my body heal itself and I am happy to be back on the road running with my friends. I am running like I did while in my 20s. We are still training together.
