My Name is Toni. I am 51 years old. In the past 4 years, I have gained a lot of weight. I was sick of how i looked and felt. I was not attending events or doing the things I enjoyed. I didn't want anyone to see me that I knew. So, I decided in October 2014 to do something about it. I began looking up workout facilities in the Maryville area. I went down the list and began calling. None were a fit until I called The Fitness Hub and spoke to Cynthia. As soon as we began talking, I knew she was the one I wanted to help me. She set up an appointment for the next day to evaluate my fitness level and discuss what my goals were. I began working out with a small group that very evening.

Cynthia really cares about her clients. She is always available to answer questions or find the answers if she doesn't know. Every time I go in, she will ask how my week has been going, if I made good food and portion choices and if I was able to get in a workout on my own. She encourages me even when i have not always made good decisions. She makes recommendations and gives out workout programs to take home to keep me on track. She also sends valuable information via email to help with food choices and tips for body and soul.

I had been a member of a big workout chain, but would frequently talk myself out of going or when I did go, I wouldn't work as hard as I should have, didn't really know what I was doing or would feel out of place and insecure. With Cynthia, she keeps me motivated. The classes are challenging, but fun. She encourages us through it all. I have a bad shoulder, so while the other girls may be doing an exercise that I can't, she will find one that works the same area that I can do. Age ranges of class: 20s - 60s. So, doesn't matter how old you are or what your fitness level is, you will fit in.

Cynthia is full of energy and is in unbelievable shape! When she told me her age, I was floored! If I will look like her by getting fit and staying fit, I will look forward to each and every birthday! She keeps me accountable and makes me feel great about myself.

I have been working out with Cynthia at The Fitness Hub for a little over 2 months now. Don’t let the fact that this woman is a grandmother fool you into thinking this is prissy calisthenics. No, this woman is tough! And she is in amazing shape, and she’ll whip you into amazing shape, too, if you let her. I live in Northwest Knoxville, and drive 30 minutes 2x a week just to come to this fitness studio because of the results I’m already seeing and most importantly, feeling.

When I started, I was 50 years old, hadn’t exercised since college, and weighed twice what my healthy weight should be. I also have scoliosis, with a curve and spiral in my spine. I have not lost much weight yet (my fault – I have not changed my eating habits, but Cynthia and I are working on a plan for that, too, now) but I no longer have back pain, I have more energy, strength, and bounce to my step. I no longer have knee pain going up and down stairs. And, clothes that did not fit me years ago when I weighed 10 lbs. less than I do right now, actually fit, because my body composition is changing. I am replacing fat with muscle, thanks to Cynthia.

After my initial consultation with Cynthia, she actually took the time to study up on scoliosis and devised specific exercises that will help strengthen my core muscles in order to prevent further progression in the scoliosis, and perhaps even correct it somewhat.

Each session is different. Cynthia takes the time to devise new programs each week, tailored to each person’s fitness level, with strengths and weaknesses in mind, and all exercises can be done at home or in a hotel room, for those of us whose jobs require frequent travel. She focuses on using body weight, and simple tools like bands, a ball, and a mat. She combines yoga, pilates, and calisthenics, and circuit training for a solid overall workout and cardio training at the same time. When I leave, I am “sore” all over - not in a painful “I can’t move” kind of way, but in an “I can tell I am equally-worked-out all over” kind of way. I feel invigorated after each workout.

I started with one-on-one training, and then moved into a small group session with 2 other women. Both are great, but I found that I enjoy the camaraderie and accountability of group training more. Either way, you’ll get a great workout, well worth your small investment, and Cynthia really knows her stuff.

Wow! Thank you Laura for your testimony and kind words. That's exactly the purpose and what The Fitness Hub is all about! But I must add that it wouldn't be happening except that YOU...you are doing the hard work and making those necessary changes to your lifestyle that are really making these things happen! What a pleasure it is working with you!

I met Cynthia during a Chamber of Commerce gathering in January 2013 and begain my fitness training with her in February. I am 49 years old and have not excercised in years and was afraid to get out to a public gym and also afraid that I would honestly pass out from attempting any fitness training. Cynthia offered one on one training and promised that she would not let me pass out, I survived :) , she was the best support and would recommend her expertise to anyone especially those that are afraid to begin fitness training or uncomfortable in a gym environment to seek Cynthia out for assistance. Since working with Cynthia I have now joined a public gym and work out 3x's a week, I've attended body pump and water areobics classes and have recently added weight training to my fitness program, Cynthia stays in touch indirectly checking on my progress and is there for me if I need her services, I feel great now , body is looking and feeling better and I give credit to Cynthia for those beginning one on one late night sessions , without her coaching and belief in me I would not be where I am today, thanks Cynthia for all you've done for me :)

You are welcome Teresa! My pleasure. What a success story! A "go-get-'er" like you just needed a little coaching "jump start" to get you on your way. Send me that pic and keep me updated! You go Girl!

I am very thankful for Cynthia for getting me back on track again.
I had my thyroid removed in Sept. after being very physically active and motivated. The surgery and treatment of Radioactive Iodine weakened me physically and mentally. I tried doing things at home, but it wasn't challenging my body or mind and I didn't have much motivation.
A friend told me about the HUB and Cynthia.
I started classes and have strengthened my body and heart. I have renewed motivation and drive.
    Thanks Cynthia

Absolutely my pleasure working with you, Mary Fran. What a change! You worked it and made it happen!

I have been a client of Cynthia's for three plus years, ever since I moved to Tennessee. To support my fitness needs this time, Cynthia has incorporated many different methods and goals - motivation, weght loss, body measurements, posture, strength, agility, flexibility, body alignment, cardio, aerobic exercise. To keep training sessions challenging and interesting, she combines aspects of yoga, pilates, strength training, weights, balls, isometrics, walking, hills, stairs, and others.

I am a 64-year-old former software business owner who wants to stay physically active for travel, hiking, walking, gardening, weight control, and so no one will need to take care of me!

Cynthia has decades of experience and will support your fitness goals with a custom, challenging program with a variety of exercise regimens. She is very aware of your fitness level and will adjust her program to avoid injuiry.
