I am an elite personal trainer who has worked one on one with clients since 1987. For over 3 decades, I have gained insight into the art of creating exercise programs to maintain strength, balance and advanced skills crucial for sports performance. I am here to help you do the things you want to do, no matter how old you are. Our bodies respond beautifully to exercise. My favorite thing to hear after a workout session is “Wow, I feel so much better than when I first came in today!” Although I work with top-level athletes in the sports-oriented town of Sun Valley, I also know from experience the challenges we face when rebounding from injuries, surgeries or chronic conditions. As a former junior ski racer, I have a passion for skiing, but I also love to hike, bike and rock climb, enjoying traveling to the cliffs of the Greek Islands, Sardinia, Italy, Spain and Thailand.
But in 2004 I was struck with spondylolisthesis, a very painful displacement of the spinal column. I couldn’t even walk or sit down to dinner. After undergoing surgery to fix my back I became a back pain specialist, focusing on the benefits of strengthening the lumbo-pelvic-hip complex. I am back to doing the things I love. Since 2000 I have also studied yoga with leading practitioners worldwide, so if you train with me, you will surely do some yoga. Balance is huge for people over 40. So is the necessity of bringing together muscles and mind to move more efficiently, to relax when we need to relax, and to be powerful when power is needed. For example, have you ever noticed that a great skier’s upper body is always relaxed? Whether your goal is fat loss, training for a specific athletic achievement, or returning to your favorite sport, I will bring abundant enthusiasm and the latest technical expertise to designing your workout plan.     After moving to the Wood River Valley, the first fitness class I took was Connie's TRX class at Wood River YMCA. It was one of the best TRX classes I had ever attended, and I knew I had found an added bonus to living here. Connie payed special attention to using correct form and adaptations for individuals that made it clear she knew what she was doing and had the health and well being of each and every student in mind. I have been a distance runner/now jogger for 40 years, and overuse and muscle imbalance issues have appeared. With the concentrated strength in core and hips that Connie's TRX provides, I believe I am stronger than ever, and jogging pain free. Oh and did I mention that Connie encourages you to do your personal best for that day....taking one to another level of tough without the brain knowing it. She does all this with a smile, kind words of encouragement and tons of fun.

    Connie’s enthusiasm, credentials, listening and encouragement to a client were the main reasons I chose Connie to design a specific workout program for me.
    While I live with Rheumatoid Arthritis and 5 joint replacements, I did not want that to define or limit my fitness. I may not be able to workout in many of the large group classes that utilize lots of repetitions or heavy lifting, however Connie produced a program where the workout was still cardio, strength and stretching that could push me without doing more joint damage. Connie went over in detail each of the exercises making sure I understood them and why she chose them. Connie truly cares about each of her clients, and continues to study and learn new techniques that are readily shared whether it be scientific evidence, mental positivity, or nutrition related. I have no reservations about referring anyone to Connie for personal training!

    I love Connie's core class! She's a fantastic instructor who is always throwing in new exercises, all of which are equally challenging for improving core strength. The 1/2 hour class is over in minutes it seems. Connie has a wonderful way of making the effort fun as well as intense, and her her great attitude, friendly and inclusive manner add to the experience. Thank you Connie for being here as a trainer for all of us.
