Hello! I have been personal training and teaching classes since 1996. I currently take one on one and small group personal clients in the Oak Harbor, WA area only. From 1995 to 1999 I ran walking clubs in two YMCAs in MN, and I am looking to start a similar, non-affiliated group in Oak Harbor in 2015. I have a background in running programs for YMCAs and gyms. I specialize in HIIT, small group boot camps, and individual modifications. My passion to to help people who are unsure or unable to move. I have three active children who keep me busy, and try to show them that movement is essential as well. I have a philosophy that anyone can and should move, however modifications need to be made in a nonjudgmental environment. For example, during a group class, if a person is unable to do a push up, modifying the move for an individual is essential. I believe a group of people who are very different in ability can perform similar, but very different movements to achieve strength, flexibility or cardiovascular goals at the same time - without feeling too singled out. Overall body strength is essential to keep our bodies younger and to prevent injuries. Proper nutrition is a great way to fuel the body, and learning the basics can boost any health and fitness routine. I have arthritis in my knees from old high school injuries... The arthritis prevents me from running, however I don’t let that stop me. And I won’t let your walls stop you, if you trust me to train you, or a group of you and your friends.
