I am pretty down to earth, really. I drive a mini-van and do the school car pool for our kids. I have arthritis in my knees, so you won’t see me running, but I take a pretty tough ballet class, have taught a core-pilates-strengthening class, and try to do some TRX, balance, strengthening sessions each week while walking as much as I can. But, I am very human, and don’t always do everything I want fitness-wise. I'm currently teaching several senior fitness classes at North End Fitness. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree with concentrations in Adult Fitness and Athletic Training in 1995, I have done everything from managing fitness centers and pools to basic one on one personal training. Although I haven’t worked with many athletes recently, I love injury management, and try to help my clients who have physical limitations to figure out their new normal, build strength, flexibility, endurance, but mostly knowledge of the what and why to do certain exercises. I’ve been training mostly middle to upper aged adults with real life bodies recently. Many of us have complications from old injuries that would cause past generations to say, "I must be getting old." My belief is that old activities may be able to be continued, with modification if injuries are involved, or a new version of that activity may need to be learned and adopted to still meet the mental, social and physica needs we have, and continue to feel and be young. I help many clients focus on core strength, balance, stability, flexibility, and overall strength... But, I love a great cardio circuit or HIIT class/session too.
