I took a look at your profile, and it looks like you have a wide ranging experience in a lot of sports and fitness activities. Given that women are as varied in their interests and activities as is the general population that is probably really helpful, especially if you are working with that subse...

Yoga can be very helpful, (I am personally WAY past needing it, but I did use yoga therapeutically a lot in the past for this). Restorative yoga is often helpful at this time. I would say to focus on longer holds, to allow the body time to stretch. Also focus on breath work, with attention t...

I can't see from your profile whether you have other certifications/trainings yet. I believe before training for silver sneakers they require you to have either a degree or a national group ex certification and CPR. If you have these things I also believe you can then take the training. Here is...

180 classes a week adds up to over 20 classes a day. ?? I am wondering if there is a typo there. Or perhaps you coordinate for several physical locations? I looked for your profile to see geographically where you were, but the profile won't pull up. Nancy is right that although the standard ...

Do any of you offer meal prep for your clients and if yes, how do you go about it? Thanks!

Conversations about food within the context of the mind / body connection always come up. I do share recipes from time to time. My last blog was my recipe for a vegan soup, for instance. But meal prep is even more complex than meal planning. I don't feel I have the background to be able to make ...

IDEA does not certify. They are a professional association. This site will give you information about a variety of organizations that certify in a variety of fitness fields. It looks from your question as though you have tagged FITOUR... I would suggest the best way to ask them about their water...

This is a link to another question a while back on this organization: Karin is right that at this point you most likely need to certify with someone else. If you choose one of the major players you may pay more upfront,...

As a group exercise coordinator, when do you discontinue a class?

Answered by Ariadne Greenberg on Nov 01, 2015

I've never been a coordinator, but I have taught group ex in a fairly wide variety of settings, and I've run my own program. It is common (I wouldn't say universal, as there are always outliers) to track class participation. Some places don't seem to tweak the schedule on a regular basis, unless t...

Wow. That is one you don't get very often. I am old enough to remember outbreaks, but not for over 30 years now, at least in the US> Dr. Salk and the polio vaccine is one of the great examples of the triumph of medical research and public health response against human suffering. It needs to be b...

Do you have any background in yoga? I couldn't tell from your profile. Although my family obligations have kept me from doing this sort of thing, there are tons of teachers i know who lead retreats all over. I know of one teacher from one of the studios where I teach who is leading one in Costa R...
