Is IDEA sending Precision Nutrition spam to everyone's inbox?

I agree with your post. Knowing something about nutrition is vital to anyone who works in fitness. Students and clients will often ask questions and it is helpful to be able to explain the basic science of the interplay of food intake and exercise output, for example. But just as I would refe...

What can I legally do with an ISSA fitness nutrition certification in MA

3 Answers | Asked by Bobbie Longo on Sep 12, 2014

Answered by Ariadne Greenberg on Sep 13, 2014

ISSA is not NCCA accredited. I know at least one place I work will accept a variety of certifications but only if they are NCCA accredited. You might look at places where you would like to work and make sure of their requirements. It may not matter, but it is good to check first. I believe they ...

3 Answers | Asked by Beverly Hosford, MA on Sep 10, 2014

Answered by Ariadne Greenberg on Sep 11, 2014

The Anatomy Zone (online) is one I like to use for looking up a specific question. The Anatomy Coloring Book (actual book) is hands down my favorite. The color coding works for me, and the focus required to do the careful coloring helps me to focus. I redo it every 5 years or so. I've never ...

I had a look at your profile and you seem to have credentials that are excellent. This is a great start, as I suspect you will be taken seriously by anyone who understands fitness credentialing. I would say depending on how you have structured the research, and on the content, you have a choice ...

How do you follow up with "Lost" or "Absentee" members?

8 Answers | Asked by Sal Leitch on Sep 07, 2014

Answered by Ariadne Greenberg on Sep 07, 2014

It is kind of like layers. Making the effort to get to know people as soon as they join the operation is a good way to have a basis to reach out. The best communication is to build a relationship when they are first coming. This can be underlined with birthday or holiday greetings and thanks, ...

I agree with Karin that a 'cookie cutter' way of eating is like a 'cookie cutter' exercise plan. So many things come into play: genetics, personality, health issues, geographic location, age. The nutritionists I know with whom I have discussed this seem to have that take as well, though that is d...

Healthy eating

So glad to see all the answers going in this direction. It is good to see that so many fitness people are doing their best each day to eat with health in mind, rather than 'going on a diet', which tends to lead to 'going off a diet' which tends to lead to 'I am off now and going on tomorrow so I wi...
