ISSA was my first certification and I chose the cert. program due to it being DETC accredited. I was hired very quickly at a private fitness studio after obtaining the CFT certification because of all the knowledge I learned through the ISSA CFT program. Since I didn't just memorize the material I was able to apply it in real life situations. I am currently looking into obtaining a second ISSA cert. I highly recommend the program!

ISSA was my first certification. I can say I learned a lot reading all the material they provide. Doing the exam (writing 6 essays, each one based on a specific topic) was a challenge, but it made me think and process the information more than just memorizing. Even though there are some gyms that don't accept ISSA as a valid certification (because the exam can be done at your home with an open book), I would recommend to take the course if you want a course that includes more info related to muscle mechanic and nutrition.
