DescriptionThe CFES Aquafit Instructor Course (AFI) covers the unique properties of water, music rhythm, equipment options and how to provide an effective and progressive water exercise program for participants of all ages. The AFI course is 24+ hours of classroom theory and in-the-water practical training with an end of course open book completion exam; followed by an 8-20 hour practicum; a one-hour closed book proctored certification exam; and a 90 minute instructor skills assessment. Passing grade is 80%. Instructors are expected to maintain CPR + First Aid tickets and obtain liability insurance (if necessary). Prerequisite: CFES Fitness Knowledge Course or equivalent.

DescriptionThe CFES Group Fitness Instructor (GFI) is a practical based program designed to teach foundation instructor skills to lead a basic group fitness class. Students will learn how to develop and modify a lesson plan, work with music and choreograph routines, use equipment effectively and safely, cuing and communication skills and professional ethics. The CFES GFI course is taken following the pre-requisite CFES Fitness Knowledge Course (or equivalent). DescriptionThe information presented in the CFES Personal Trainer (PT) course is comprehensive and academically credible. Students will gain more advanced theory in a classroom setting and put that into practice. The program teaches how to assist clients make positive lifestyle changes by assessing health related fitness levels and providing sound, evidence-based advise on both physical activities and healthy eating habits. Pre-requisite CFES Weight Training Instructor Course, or equivalent. The PT course is 40+ hours of classroom and practical teaching, and also includes a course completion open book exam; followed by a 20-hour practicum, closed book proctored certification exam and skills assessment. Passing grade is 80%. PTs are expected to maintain CPR + First Aid tickets and obtain liability insurance.
