Meet Some Outstanding Members!
Alan Harris
Silver Spring, Maryland
Member Since 1992
Alan Harris’s specialty in fitness instruction
is combining science and common sense when teaching
exercise, health and nutrition. “My favorite aspects
of fitness are teaching classes, giving personal training
instruction and being involved with the overall success
of individuals in changing their attitudes, minds and
ways of living,” he says. Harris is no stranger
to the limelight, as he has hosted programs for the
Discovery Health Channel and Cox Cable. Harris also
lends his time and expertise as a coach for youth sports
and is frequently involved in charity fundraising activities,
including R.O.S.E. Fund events to stop violence against
women.
Ruth Kroes
Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles
Member Since 1994
Ruth Kroes has been active for the majority of her life,
having been involved in ballet, hip-hop and salsa from
a very young age. After receiving her group exercise
leadership certificate from The Cooper Institute in
Dallas, she continued to enhance her education by studying
Pilates, BOSU™ balance training and more. A staunch
advocate for health and fitness, Ruth has started walking
clubs and organized activities for participants of all
ages. She heads up a fitness dance group called “Shape
Your Life and Stay Fit Kids @ Ruth Aerobics,”
which in 1997 won an aerobics competition in her hometown
of Curaçao. As for the joy that fitness brings
her, Ruth says, “I see great progress with my
clients, and that helps me go on and Inspire the World
to Fitness® with the Ruth Aerobics Touch!”
