Meet Some Outstanding Members Who Inspire the World to Fitness®!

Charli Douglass
Las Vegas, NV
Member Since 1985

Charli Douglass, certified Burris mind/fitness life coach and ACE group fitness instructor and personal trainer, focuses on helping others overcome difficulties using mind power. To this end, she includes “inspirational moments” at the start of each of her 15 classes per week and hosts a weekly lunch open to all her students. “I meet (free of charge) with students who would like help in moving forward with their goals,” Charli says. “It has become a great way for members to get to know one another away from the club, and they also become each other’s support system.” Charli has even created a seminar called “Reprogramming for Results” to help attendees boost momentum toward success. She discusses subjects such as the law of attraction, Emotional Freedom Techniques (a method of working with pain) and general health and fitness information.

Rebecca Lloyd, PhD
Chelsea, Quebec
Member Since 2006

“Looking back to my early years, I was a child in a perpetual state of motion,” says Rebecca Lloyd, PhD, part-time professor in the school of human kinetics at the University of Ottowa. “Although now I walk around with a sense of poise as I enter my university classrooms or the fitness centers where I teach, [the things that remain] the same are the passion I feel when I move and the joy I wish to spread to others as they become physically educated.” To help spread this joy, Rebecca asks that her fellow fitness professionals look deeper into their practice. “I ask fitness educators to reflect on the manner in which movements are taught,” she states. What results is “a natural gravitation toward appreciating how a posture can change mood, how exercise can help one feel stronger, more adroit, more informed and more prepared for everyday life.”
