March 2020 IDEA Member Spotlight

Meet three IDEA members who truly shine.

Elizabeth Lenart

Member Since 2007  :: West Springfield, Massachusetts

Personal trainer Elizabeth Lenart

“There is no other experience like attending IDEA® World,” says Elizabeth Lenart. “I remember the first World I ever attended. It was like Christmas morning created just for fitness lovers! The presenters made us all feel special. They uplifted me at a time when I needed it most. That’s when I decided I needed to find a way to pay it forward.” It was a key decision that led to a distinguished 20-year career as a trainer, presenter and program director. “You’ve got to work for and with people you believe in and who believe right back in you,” Elizabeth explains. In 2020, she will lead several IDEA World sessions, sharing both her experience and her enthusiasm. Learn about those classes—and the more than 330 other educational opportunities—at ideafit.com/world.

Alice Trowbridge, RN

Member Since 1995  ::  San Diego

Personal trainer Alice Trowbridge

“I had wanted to be an instructor since I was 13,” says Alice Trowbridge. “As soon as I turned 18, I got my first job with a local gym.” Today, she’s a personal trainer, group exercise instructor and registered yoga instructor. She’s also a registered nurse, just another way she cares for the people around her. In 2018, she added bodybuilding to the mix. “I was turning 50 and wanted to ignite my passion for the second half of my life. What I’ve found out is that it’s never too late to build muscle, get strong and feel your best.” With the support of her family, Alice is ready for her next adventure, and she offers some great advice: “Never stop loving,” she says. “Never give up on yourself. Try something new, learn to trust yourself, walk through fears and learn to live in the moment.”

Nicole Simonin

Member Since 2008  ::  Monroeville, New Jersey

Personal trainer Nicole Simonin

“Once you get past the negative voices in your head, you’ll be unstoppable.” That’s the message that Nicole Simonin shares with her clients, and it’s a message that’s guided her own journey, as well. Diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis when she was 17, she seemed to have a limited future. “I couldn’t squeeze toothpaste out it was so painful,” she remembers. But she wouldn’t let the RA stop her. “Not only did I overcome the arthritis, but I also went on to dance professionally as a ballet dancer.” Today, Nicole works with women over 40, both in person and through customized online coaching programs. “I like to focus not just on fitness and nutrition but also on getting them in the right frame of mind to keep the weight and inches off for life.” It’s the positive voice that helps her clients become unstoppable.
