Integrating Physiological Principles Into a Comprehensive Pilates Program - CEC Course

by Rael Isacowitz, MA

1 Review

Type: Online Course

Item: C910365CEC

Description

Over the years, commonly used cues and techniques delivered with the certainty of proven scientific knowledge have been misleading and incorrect. For instance, it is proclaimed that Pilates builds strength, yet often Pilates teachers shy away indignantly from the notion of overloading a muscle or muscle group with resistance, ignoring the physiological principle of overload. This session will introduce the Block System™, a method by which instructors can achieve the maximum from the work and the physiological principles that support it.

It is magical to watch Rael teach. Amazing how students respond to queuing...something to aspire to :)
He clearly demonstrates how important and relevant it is to apply Pilates principles to each repetition of an exercise - changing the workout altogether.
I am sometimes guilty of letting clients slip into bad form just to be able to do the repetition :( This is an excellent refresher for teachers - it's not about the repertory; it's about the principles.
