This video will present evidence-based information on the importance and effect of consuming carbohydrates before, during and after exercise. The importance of type, quantity, form and timing of carbohydrate ingestion will also be reviewed. The impact of carbohydrate intake on body composition, appetite and weight management will be addressed. Participants will learn the truth about some common carbohydrate myths and learn ways to better educate their clients about carbohydrates in general.

Jenna is a two-time Ironman Finisher and completed three marathons. In addition, she has competed in numerous sprint and Olympic distance triathlons and road races. Dr. Bell earned her doctorate with Distinction in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis on Exercise Science at the University of New Mexico, Masters Degree with Distinction in Nutrition and dietetic internship, and Bachelors in Nutritional Sciences from the University of New Hampshire. I am a Senior Research Scientist at Abbott Nutrition, working with EAS Sports Nutrition. I have a BS in Dietetics from Viterbo College in LaCrosse, WI, and a PhD in Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota. I am a Registered and Licensed Dietitian in Ohio. I have expertise in sports nutrition and carbohydrate metabolism. I am also a former competitive bodybuilder. I have 20 scientific publications and over 20 years experience as a dietitian.

    This presentation is excellent. It offers fantastic information on the way our bodies break down and use different types of carbs while then providing great advise to apply to your training. We get so many questions from clients around carbs and sugars, and this course really provides some great knowledge that goes above and beyond people's general nutritional knowledge.
