Raising the Fruit Bar


June is the month when those delicious summer fruits start to appear on store shelves. Recently, the USDA measured the disease-fighting antioxidants in a bevy of “power foods,” ranking each on their respective total antioxidant capacity, or TAC. Here’s a look at how some common summer fruits stacked up on that list; shown below are the TACs per serving size (1 piece of fruit or 1 cup berries) in order of concentration:
