A Pintsize Pyramid

by Diane Lofshult on Jan 01, 2006

Children across America now have their own kid-friendly version of the government’s online MyPyramid Food Guidance System. Appropriately titled MyPyramid for Kids, the new website (www.mypyramid.gov/kids/index.html) offers these features:

  • a nifty graphic symbol designed to appeal to kids aged 6–11
  • lesson plans for grades 1–6
  • an interactive computer game called “MyPyramid Blast Off”
  • a physical activity curriculum for elementary-school students
  • a downloadable poster
  • tips for families
  • a coloring page
  • downloadable worksheets to track food choices
