Meet Some Outstanding Members Who Inspire the World to Fitness®!
Amy Boone Thompson
La Jolla, California
Member Since 2004
“Inspiring people requires more than telling them what to do; it is showing them by your example,” says Amy Boone Thompson, national project and marketing director for Stroller Strides® LLC. “I live a healthy, active lifestyle and I share those values with others.” Something that keeps Amy motivated is the persistent evolution of the fitness industry. “We constantly learn new and more efficient and effective ways to keep our bodies and minds fit!” When not inspiring clients and colleagues, Amy acts as a fitness expert for a project that studies fitness, nutrition and the recurrence of breast cancer. She also offers her time to the Healthy Homes Initiative, which is responsible for removing harmful toxins from the home.
Biray Alsac, MS
Member Since 2003
Biray Alsac, owner of FITTmaxx Institute, believes that fitness professionals must embrace the growing presence of technology in order to stay on top of their game. “Interactive technologies are making it possible for health and fitness professionals to connect with a different audience—those who are Internet savvy, computer literate, or who play video games,” she says. Alsac is so passionate about helping fitness pros increase their techno know-how that she has made it her business. “At FITmaxx Institute, I teach workshops that expand the skill set needed to effectively integrate these innovative resources into current programming.” Alsac helps professionals learn how to leverage blogs, YouTube and Nintendo Wii to better serve clients and students.
