Meet Some Outstanding Members Who Inspire the World to Fitness®!
Joe Niles
Moorpark, California
Member Since 2003
Joe Niles, fitness trainer, Pilates instructor and strength and conditioning coach, is a firecracker with enough energy to power a small city. He uses this energy to motivate his clients to see beyond their self-imposed limitations. “I use my enthusiasm and knowledge of health and fitness to lead others to become passionate about their lives physically, mentally and ethically,” he says. Fitness first comes as a mindset, he adds, and then is followed by the physical components. “Through encouragement, praise and positive messages, I help others transform their beliefs and their lives, creating outcomes they never thought possible. To give pleasure to a single heart by a single act is what makes ‘Joe’ who he is.”
Laurel Blackburn
Tallahassee, Florida
Member Since 2004
Laurel Blackburn, personal trainer and boot camp company owner, believes that everyone deserves to experience a fit and healthy lifestyle. “We have had many people come to our boot camp weighing more than 300 pounds. By challenging these clients to give more and do more, they can now run, jump, and do pull-ups and push-ups.” It takes a fighter’s spirit to forge ahead, says Laurel, who considers her boot camp “old-school, hardcore fitness.” She loves the creativity—and challenges—that teaching boot camp provides. “I love thinking outside of the box. I love the challenge of having clients of different ages, sexes and fitness levels in the same class.”
