After the loss of a good friend to ovarian cancer, IDEA author and presenter Bethany Diamond decided to put her talents to a good cause and founded Ovarian Cycle Inc. "Ovarian Cycle Inc. is dedicated to funding research for the development of a test for the accurate diagnosis of ovarian cancer—the most lethal form of women's cancers," she says. "Currently there is no such test, and as a result women are diagnosed in the later, more dangerous stages of the disease." The 6-week indoor cycling program trains enthusiasts and newcomers for a "6-hour virtual century ride." According to Bethany, the organization has brought in more than $360,000 to help researchers develop a test for early detection. For more information, visit www.ovariancycle.org.

Tamer Farag, co-owner and president of Equilibrium Sports Co., says that it's his mission to bring high-quality fitness education to Egypt and the Middle East. "In our facilities, we inspire members to equilibrium—a balance between body, mind and soul," says Tamer. Tamer believes that this mission can be achieved only through the teamwork of his staff of 120 personal trainers, nutritionists, physiotherapists, group fitness instructors and masseurs. One of Tamer's initiatives was to help create a "fat mass reduction competition" that started out with 4,000 members in 2002. "In 2007, we had more than 12,000 members [compete]," he says. "In 2008, we decided to open the program to [include] everybody."
