Meet Some Outstanding Members Who Inspire the World to Fitness®!

Melanie Johnson
New Haven, Connecticut
Member Since 1988

Having been the first to offer Pilates, Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® exercise in her area, Melanie Johnson fully understands the importance of moving forward in a consistently evolving industry. "My desire to . . . keep adding to and transforming my career gives me the ability to motivate and inspire my clients to achieve their own goals each day—no matter how big or small," says Melanie, who opened her own studio in 1998. This enthusiasm for growth—and her belief in treating each session as the client's most important hour in the day—has garnered Melanie and her studio such accolades as "Best Personal Trainer," 2000–2007, and "Best Pilates Studio," 2004–2007.

Danny Kennedy
Melbourne, Australia
Member Since 1996

Despite operating a studio with a small membership, personal trainer Danny Kennedy is not left wanting for business; in fact, he and his colleagues log about 200 personal training sessions per week. He believes that keeping things "small" creates a family environment that his members appreciate. "This is vital in ensuring that no-one gets 'lost' in a sea of faces and large buildings where having more equipment is more important than making sure everyone is getting results and having fun!" he enthuses. What gives Danny the most joy after 26 years of service is how he can "positively affect someone's quality of life. I like how these days more people want to be 'well' rather than be 'Barbie beautiful.'"
