Making News

With the slogan “Join Us on the Trail,” the American Hiking Society (AHS) plans to celebrate 16 years of National Trail Day, “a long-standing celebration of America’s magnificent trail system and its countless supporters and volunteers.” The organization, along with hikers, outdoors enthusiasts and maybe even a few wilderness newbies, will take to the trails June 7 to get a bit of fresh air and enjoy nature’s scenery. AHS president Greg Miller believes that “there is no better way than through hiking and other human-powered activities to build the human spirit, improve our health and increase environmental awareness and public support for trails.” For more information visit www.americanhiking.org and learn more about this great event.
