Geneviève Nedder discovered her love for Pilates when her doctor suggested it as a way to relieve back and neck pain—the result of a car accident. Geneviève discovered Pilates after her doctor told her, “There’s a woman in town who has big, strange pieces of equipment. I’m not exactly sure what she does but she helps people with back pain.” Geneviève was awed by her success with Pilates and has since obtained many specialized Pilates certifications. She has even opened her own studio, Body Fundamentals Inc., to share her passion and knowledge with others.

At Body Fundamentals, Geneviève and her team focus on integrating movement with a mind-body connection. “My background as a performer combined with many years of rehabilitation from injuries gives me a broad perspective on movement,” Genevieve says.

Geneviève’s favorite piece of equipment to use is the Wunda chair. “It is versatile, challenging and shapes the body from multiple angles,” she says.

Geneviève has never lost her love for dancing and still enjoys participating occasionally in a dance class. She also enjoys any activities that take her outdoors. “Being in nature is a big source of joy for me whether that’s a long hike or a short walk to the grocery store.”
