fishing for seafood facts

Food for Thought:

Want more information on the types of fish to seek out and those you should avoid? Need a quick overview of seafood safety guidelines and recommended intake levels? Answers to these and other fishy questions are just a computer click away, at a website called “Fish Facts for Healthy Nutrition” (www.doh.wa.gov/ehp/oehas/fish/ fishchart.htm), published by the Washington State Department of Health. The site is especially helpful for pregnant or nursing women and young children, who should choose fish wisely to avoid certain contaminants, such as mercury, that can cause adverse health effects in these populations.
