Dial a Dietitian

Food for Thought:

Consumers who are dealing with the effects of cancer treatment now have a place to turn for questions about diet and general nutrition. The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) allows the public to call a toll-free hotline and leave a message for a registered dietitian, who will call you back with an answer to your inquiry.

Dial (800) 843-8114 Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time. You can also visit the online AICR hotline at www.aicr.org.

I hate to say it but I would not recommend calling them at all. They use their funding not for medical research but to fatten the pockets of the elite administrators who run it. I read an article recently that they make billions of dollars from charity but only spend about 23% on it for actual medical research. That is disgusting. I have also read that their dietary guidelines are distributed by the same companies who have made our nation sick with packaged and processed foods such as General Mills, cereals. If you want to be educated on a more scientific approach to learning about foods and how to heal disease I would suggest going to www.raypeat.com for further study. I am not advocating that his way his the only but to be open to alternative healing methods through foods. My massage therapist healed her own cancer through foods only. The cure is there but sadly our eyes are closed.
