banish big grocery carts
Food for Thought:
Want to buy less junk food and save money in the process? One novel way may be to choose your food delivery system carefully. Shoppers who use big carts at the supermarket tend to buy about a third more items than those who use smaller carts or baskets. One theory for this is that a larger cart causes our brain’s dopamine levels to rise as we struggle to fill the shopping vessel. Dopamine, a powerfully addictive chemical, typically increases when people anticipate rewards in the form of food and clothing.
