Jenna A. Bell, PhD, RD, holds a doctorate degree in health and human performance. She is an international presenter and her articles have been featured in Self, Pilates Style, Runner’s World, IDEA Fitness Journal and other publications. She is a nutrition advisor to several sports nutrition companies and is the 2012–2013 chair-elect for the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Lawrence Biscontini, MA, is a mindful movement specialist and the recipient of multiple industry awards. He currently serves as a senior consultant for Power Music® and is part of the development master trainer team for BOSU®. Known for his versatility as an educator, Lawrence is an author and regular contributor of articles to industry periodicals. Mike Bracko, EdD, is the director of Dr. Bracko’s Fitness and the Hockey Institute, and is a fitness educator, hockey skating coach, writer, and back injury prevention expert. Mike holds a doctoral degree in exercise science. He works with hockey players, industrial workers and fitness professionals to improve performance and prevent injury. Mike is the author of 28 DVDs and CDs on topics such as body leverage training, ultimate back exercises, lateral training, back injury prevention, and safe lifting. Certification: NSCA
Darya Bronston is the founder of Annovium Products and the inventor of the CoreFitnessRoller®. She is a licensed massage therapist, Pilates instructor and personal trainer. Darya’s quest to explore and understand the body drives her continued personal education efforts and growth. Her passion for moving bodies into vibrancy and wellness fuels her creation of programming, courses, classes and sessions based on building dynamic strength through unique patterns of integrative movement. Marc Bubbs, ND, is the founder of Naturopathic Sports Medicine and currently works as a sports medical consultant at the Toronto Athletic Club, Laylor Performance Systems and for the Canada Basketball Development Program. As a naturopathic doctor and strength and conditioning coach, Marc focuses on the integration of health and exercise, believing that “movement is the best medicine.” He focuses on an integrative approach, using a combination of traditional Eastern medicine and cutting-edge Western medicine to meet his clients’ health and performance goals.
Colin Carriker, MS, is a doctoral student in exercise science at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. His research interests include altitude and cold-environment physiology. His appreciation for exercise as preventive medicine stems from his previous experience working as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and emergency medical technician. Certification: ACSM
Ellen Coleman, MA, MPH, RD, CSSD, is a certified specialist in sports dietetics and consults for The SPORT Clinic in Riverside, California. She has consulted with the Los Angeles Lakers, Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Angels, and authored several books and continuing education courses for health and fitness professionals. She holds two master’s degrees, one in physical education and one in public health nutrition. She has received numerous awards, including the 2011 Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics medallion award.
Fabio Comana, MA, MS, is the director of continuing education for NASM®, and a faculty member at San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego. He was the original developer of ACE’s Integrated Fitness Training™ (IFT™) model and led development on their personal trainer educational workshops. Fabio has a wealth of experience from working as a collegiate head coach, strength and conditioning coach, and club manager for Club One. Certifications: ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA
Rodney Corn, MA, is a co-founder of PTA Global and an adjunct faculty member at the University of San Francisco and California University of Pennsylvania. With over 20 years in the fitness industry, Rodney has traveled worldwide presenting at numerous conferences, sharing his experience in wellness, sports performance and corrective exercise. He holds a master’s degree in biomechanics and is a fellow of Applied Functional Science™ with the Gray Institute. Certifications: NASM, PTA Global
Michol Dalcourt is an educator, author, inventor and industry leader in the areas of human movement and performance training. He has served as an instructor at the NAIT College School of Health Sciences, and is currently adjunct faculty at the University of San Francisco in the sports science department, and the director of the Institute of Motion. Michol is the creator of ViPR™, the co-founder of PTA Global and has studied exercise science at the University of Alberta.
Amy Dixon is one of the most dynamic fitness instructors in the industry today. She is a contributing editor for numerous fitness and lifestyle magazines and is the senior group fitness manager for Equinox®. Amy is the spokesperson for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, a Reebok walking expert, as well as a master trainer for Schwinn® Cycling, BOSU® and Shockwave®. She has starred in many critically acclaimed fitness DVDs and online fitness programs, and holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology. Certification: AFAA
Todd Durkin, MA, owns Fitness Quest 10 and Todd Durkin Enterprises in San Diego. He is a human performance specialist, bodyworker and motivational speaker who trains dozens of elite, high-profile NFL and MLB athletes, including two Super Bowl MVPs, Olympic gold medalists, and Heisman Trophy winners. Todd is a past recipient of the IDEA and ACE Personal Trainer of the Year awards. Certification: ACE, NSCA
Gail Sophia Edgell is the co-founder of Holistic Marketing Mentors. With over 25 years of wellness experience, Gail helps wellness professionals find their niche, utilize unique partnerships and bring additional revenue streams into their businesses. Her background includes implementing hundreds of corporate wellness initiatives: owning a large personal training business with contractors; hosting a radio show; co-authoring Mastering Your Wellness Business; and most recently, as a health educator for Designs for Health professional supplement company.
Britny Fowler has 9 years of experience as a fitness trainer at spas and gyms and she is a master trainer for Hyperwear®, TRX® and Trigger Point Performance Therapy. She has a passion to coach and empower others to enrich their quality of life through movement, education, nutrition and mind-body awareness. Britny holds a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M University. Certification: NASM
Trina Gray is a national presenter and owner of the award-winning Bay Athletic Club in Alpena, Michigan. She is the creator of the Corporate Fit Challenge program and coaches trainers to build stronger businesses and change communities. Trina is an elite coach in Team Beachbody® and is on the coach advisory board. She’s a savvy business strategist and teaches fitness classes, specialty boot camps and community weight loss contests. Steve Hertzler, PhD, RD, is a senior research scientist for Abbott Nutrition with expertise in sports nutrition and carbohydrate metabolism. Steve holds a doctorate degree in human nutrition and has been a registered dietitian since 1988. He is an author on 20 peer-reviewed research articles, was on the nutrition faculty at the Ohio State University for 7 years, and has 3 years of experience as a clinical dietitian.
Hayley Hollander is a personal trainer, educator and co-founder of Advanced Training Performance in Las Vegas. She has been in the fitness industry for over 13 years, is a master trainer for TRX®, and is the director of training and education for PTA Global. Hayley holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education. Certifications: ACE, AFAA, NASM, PTA Global
Farel Hruska has almost 20 years experience as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and educator. She is the national fitness director for FIT4MOM®, holding Stroller Strides®, Fit4Baby®, Stroller Barre® and Body Back® instructor certifications, as well as supporting thousands of instructors nationwide. Farel is a national educator, author and presenter, and is a subject matter expert in pre- and postnatal fitness. She is also an approved continuing education provider for ACE and AFAA. Pat Jak, MS, worked for several years in eBusiness before changing careers. He is now the director of metabolic testing at Todd Durkin’s Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego. Pat’s workouts have been featured in Bicycling magazine and he provides online coaching to endurance athletes such as the SKLZ-Swami’s Development Cycling Team, UCSD Cycling Team, Challenged Athletes Foundation, and many state, national and world champions and medalists. Brett Klika is the director of athletic performance at Todd Durkin’s Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego, and has worked with thousands of youth and elite athletes. He holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and has been published in a variety of academic textbooks and industry publications. Brett is the 2013 IDEA Personal Trainer of the Year, a dynamic international speaker and a consultant to many youth-based fitness organizations. Certification: NSCA
Angela Kneale, OTR, is an occupational therapist, certified Stott Pilates® instructor, and Franklin Method® Level 3 educator. She is the author of seven books, including Rolling for Resilience, PRO-ROLLER™ Massage Essentials, PRO-ROLLER Pilates Essentials, PRO-ROLLER Pilates Challenge and Desk Pilates. For the past 20 years, Angela has incorporated mind-body movement and myofascial release into her therapy practice, specializing in the integration of movement, breathing, postural alignment, and relaxation techniques for optimal health.
Len Kravitz, PhD, , is the program coordinator of exercise science and a researcher at the University of New Mexico where he received the Outstanding Teacher of the Year award. He was honored with the 2009 CanFitPro Specialty Presenter of the Year award and chosen as the 2006 ACE Fitness Educator of the Year. Len holds a doctorate degree in exercise science and health promotion. Certification: ACSM
Marc Lebert is the owner of Lebert Fitness, Inc., a world leader in developing innovative fitness training tools like the Lebert Equalizer™, Lebert Stretch Strap™ and the Lebert Buddy System™. An international presenter, Marc is also a fitness club owner, a certified NLP practitioner, the Silver Lining Entrepreneur of the Year, and he was nominated for the 2012 CanFitPro Fitness Professional of the Year. Maria Luqué, PhD, has over 13 years experience creating training exercise and nutrition workshops for individuals of all genders and ages. She holds post-graduate and doctoral degrees in health sciences, and it was during her doctoral studies that she investigated the effects of physical activity on quality of life for women transitioning through menopause. In addition to conducting workshops, group and personal training, and writing, Maria teaches at the College of Health Sciences at Trident University International.
Pete McCall, MS, is an exercise physiologist in San Diego. He holds a master’s degree in exercise science and health promotion, and has completed a fellowship with the Gray Institute. Pete’s philosophy is that fitness is “having the physical ability to do what you want to do, when you want to do it.” Throughout his career, he’s helped numerous people live healthier lives through physical activity. Chris McGrath, MS, has over 25 years experience as an educator, trainer, coach and program director. He teaches courses on many training modalities, including functional training, movement screening/assessments, corrective exercise, sports performance/injury prevention and health coaching. He holds a master’s degree in exercise physiology and currently resides in New York City where he founded and operates his personal training and consulting business, Movement First. Sherri McMillan, MSc, has been inspiring the world to fitness for almost 25 years. She has received numerous industry awards, including the 2010 CanFitPro International Fitness Presenter of the Year, the 2006 IDEA Fitness Director of the Year and the 1998 IDEA Personal Trainer of the Year. As a fitness trainer, fitness columnist, and author of five books, Sherri is also a featured presenter in various fitness DVDs and a spokesperson for Nike, Schwinn® and PowerBar®. Sherri holds a master’s degree in exercise science.
Teri Mosey, PhD, is the founder of Holistic Pathways, LLC, an education company specializing in holistic nutrition and lifestyle coaching. She has 16 years experience as a consultant, educator and exercise physiologist. Teri strives to assist others to discover their personal path to wellness. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, a master’s degree in exercise physiology and a doctorate degree in holistic nutrition. Certifications: ACSM, NASM
Bernadette O’Brien, MA, teaches land and aqua fitness classes for all populations, and she is helping the world rethink what teaching seniors really means today. She has acquired the nickname Super Betty for her unmatched dynamism. In addition, Bernadette was voted the Most Energized, Amazing Woman in America by Centrum, winning over applicants in their 50s, 60s and 70s. At 82, Bernadette not only teaches, but sports a black belt in karate. Certifications: ACE, AFAA
Lenny Parracino is a faculty member for the Gray Institute of Applied Functional Science™ and has spent over 20 years serving the health industry as an integrative practitioner and international lecturer. Formerly an instructor and clinician for the National Academy of Sports Medicine®, Lenny has written educational materials and consulted for various medical organizations around the world. He holds a degree in health science and has a license to practice soft tissue therapy in the state of California.
Cassidy Phillips, founder of Trigger Point Performance Therapy, is a biomechanical specialist concentrating in sports performance and injury prevention. Diagnosed with fibromyalgia over 10 years ago, it became his mission to understand muscular structure and the regeneration of dysfunctional tissue. This led to his development of Trigger Point Performance products, education and methodologies, including Myofascial Compression™ Techniques (MCT). He specializes in recognizing the biomechanical challenges and inefficiencies in movement and travels the world educating others on the benefits of self-massage.
Lindsey Richardson is the director of marketing for the highly acclaimed Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego. Lindsey’s more than 10 years of marketing experience with major players in the restaurant and retail industry have allowed her to create and implement highly effective and profitable marketing strategies and campaigns. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California and has been a featured speaker at San Diego State University’s Graduate Sports Management Program.
Brian Richey is the owner operator of Fit 4 Life DC and he holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and kinesiology. A personal trainer for 19 years, Brian instructs for the American Academy of Health, Fitness and Rehabilitation Professionals, conducting workshops throughout the United States. He is known for his work as a postrehabilitation conditioning specialist and program director. Certifications: AAHFRP-MES, MEPD/PRCS
Keli Roberts is a world-renowned presenter and fitness educator who continues to raise the bar as a well-respected fitness professional. She is a member of the BOSU® development team, a Schwinn® master trainer and a 2007 Fitness Hall of Fame inductee. Michael Rogers, PhD, FACSM, is the chair of the department of human performance studies and a professor of exercise science at Wichita State University. He teaches graduate courses in exercise physiology, exercise testing, fitness instruction of older adults, and the physical dimensions of aging. Michael is also the director for the center for physical activity and aging. His primary research interests concern the effects of balance and resistance training on muscle and bone health, fall prevention, and functional capacity in older adults. Certifications: NSCA
Greg Roskopf, MA, is the owner and developer of Muscle Activation Techniques®, a biomechanical-based process designed to evaluate and correct muscular imbalances that contribute to pain or injury. Greg holds a master’s degree in exercise science from California State University, Fresno, and he has worked as a consultant with various professional organizations, including the Denver Broncos, Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets.
Coy Schneider holds a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. As a coach of Urban Animal, Coy possesses a unique set of skills that help clients achieve their goals. He has trained all manner of clients, from fitness fanatics and weekend warriors, to professional-level athletes alike. When he is not training or throwing around medicine balls, Coy can be found in the weight room in his quest for ultimate strength. Certification: NSCA
Nora St. John, MS, is the education program director for Balanced Body®. She has taught Pilates since 1988 and currently directs the Pilates instructor training program for Balanced Body. Nora has studied Chinese medicine, massage, the Franklin Method®, Anatomy in Clay® and other modalities. She is focused on creating experiences that are innovative, enlightening and effective. She holds degrees in biology, dance and traditional Chinese medicine, and is the author of 11 teacher training manuals and magazine articles.
Kyle Stull, MS, is the senior manager for research and program design for Trigger Point Performance. He has a master’s degree in rehabilitative sciences, is a licensed massage therapist, and is studying for his doctorate in organizational behavior. Kyle is a master instructor for the National Academy of Sports Medicine® and a master trainer for Trigger Point Performance. Casey Stutzman is the head trainer at the Bay Athletic Club in Alpena, Michigan, where he specializes in individual, small-group and large-group training sessions. He is currently working with Surge™ (Hedstrom Fitness) and has been instrumental in the development of training methods and education for the Surge product. Ken Weichert (a.k.a. “SGT Ken”) is an international speaker, six-time Army Soldier of the Year, master fitness trainer, master resilience trainer, counterintelligence agent, and highly decorated combat veteran. Ken has trained over 500,000 soldiers and civilians, has written over 100 articles for GX, Backpacker, Outside, Health, and has starred in several best-selling fitness videos. He was awarded the 2011 Best New Presenter of the Year by CanFitPro and it is Ken’s mission to help people turn stress into strength and obstacles into opportunities.
Keith B. Wheeler, PhD, FACSM, is the global director of performance nutrition, research, development and scientific affairs for Abbott Nutrition. He holds a bachelor’s degree in life science, and a master’s degree and doctorate in nutritional biochemistry. A fellow with the American College of Sports Medicine and an elected member of the American Society for Nutrition, Keith has worked with professional teams and organizations on the topic of performance nutrition.
Chuck Wolf, MS, is the director of Human Motion Associates and the biomechanics director of the Gait & Motion Analysis Lab at the Neurospine Institute in Orlando. He is known for his expertise in functional anatomy, movement analysis, function and advanced program design. Chuck teaches workshops, presents at conferences and conducts seminars with fitness professionals and elite athletes from a wide array of sports.
