Trap Bar Deadlift

by Ralph Rowells

Traditional deadlifts are a great exercise to determine over strength; unfortunately not everyone can properly perform a straight bar deadlift. Why the trap bar deadlift might be a better option The Trap Bar is Great for beginners especially if you lack the hip and ankle mobility to get into proper position for a straight bar deadlift. Easier on the back, trap bar deadlifts doesn’t force you into spinal flexion like the straight bar does for many people. The trap bar deadlift allows for safer variation like the jump deadlift and deadlift and shrug. Doesn't send you home with bloody shins. With that being said the straight bar deadlift when done correctly is a great exercise and will always have a place in my training program.
