Star Balance

Training balance and core stability is absolutely essential to your fitness and health. Start the Star Balance exercise by holding the ball in one hand, standing on one leg, reaching out to the side, and balancing on one leg. Then come back up and go to the other side, leaning the body and balancing on one leg. As a progression, increase the range of motion that you move through. Now start to explore the edges of your balance as you move to the side smoothly and with steady balance. For our third and last progression, you will do this with your eyes closed. Now, what you'll find here is that your range of motion is going to get a little bit shorter, but this is a great way to stimulate the nervous system and get those proprioceptors and neuromuscular system working for you.
