Staggered Stance Chest Press with Tube

The staggered stance chest press with tubing is a great exercise to help us recruit those muscles that we use for any of our punching or throwing activities. It gets that anterior oblique system going, starting with your right shoulder with your chest down to your left hip. Stand with your left leg forward and the right elbow back. Now punch through with the right arm as you do a lunge into the left leg. Good stability on that left leg is really important. At the same time, drive the opposite elbow back to create good thoracic rotation and get that body working in the transverse plane. If you want to progress this exercise, use an unstable surface for your lead leg to be on so that you'll have to maintain that same stability and transfer it up to the right shoulder girdle as you push through.
