Description

The sprinter's step up is a great exercise to help incorporate arm and leg drive and use the gravitational forces to resist working vertically. This exercise helps with quick turnover of the arms and legs and explosive strength and speed. Step up with one foot on the step and afterwards bring the trail leg behind you, driving your arms up so hard that you get your stance leg up off the step each time. As a regression to this exercise, reproduce the same movement, but stop it to the point before the stance leg actually comes off the step. After doing the necessary movements, switch legs and repeat the same process on the other side.
