Side Approach Tap-Up-Tap-Down

Adding cardio intervals to your resistance program is a great way to increase the caloric expenditure, really get your heart rate up, improve cardiovascular fitness, as well as muscular strength endurance. This drill is a fun way of doing just that. Start by stepping up, stepping back down, and then going over. Repeat it on this side: step up, step down, and go over. So for our next progression, jump up and step down and go over. Jump up with both feet, step down one leg at a time, and go over. For our third progression, add a double jump, a little plyometric hop, and then go over. So this one really gets the heart rate up. It's very high intensity and takes a lot of skill. It's a good drill for skiing or any type of sport that involves lateral movement.
