This exercise sequence is designed to warm up the upper body: the shoulders, the chest, and the back. Start with some shoulder circles. Do big circles really rotating the arm around in the shoulder socket and then circle forward. Now move to some shrugs. Warm up the upper traps, the neck muscles, and bring the shoulders right up to the ears. Now arm circles come next. Do big circles with the arms coming backwards, and then reverse it and come forwards. Hold it right there, bring your elbows back, and give yourself a chest stretch. Now, this active stretch really works and warms up the upper back as well as stretch the chest. Come forward, opening out the rhomboids and the upper back. Then go back to opening the chest, and one more time for the rhomboids and you're ready to go.
