One Arm Bicep Curl Staggered Stance with Rotation-Tubing

by Anthony Carey, MA

Description

Start with a staggered stance and the tubing anchored behind you. You will want to incorporate a bicep curl that gets both the long and short head of the bicep with some good transverse plane motion of the torso, so we will require the abdominals to be more active in this particular exercise. Have your feet properly distributed, maybe a little bit back toward the right leg. A you bring your arm through on the bicep curl, pull back with the opposite arm, driving the rotation in your upper body and shifting weight to the front leg as the right arm comes through in the curl. Control eccentrically as the tubing pulls you back. If you want to progress this exercise and make it a little bit more challenging, increase the tempo, so the reaction is even more against the tubing each time.
