Lunge Row with Tube-High

by Anthony Carey, MA

Description

The lunge row with tubing high has the tubing anchored above your head at this point. Start in a staggered stance with your right leg forward. Your left arm will be pulled toward the anchor point. Extend the right hip and do a lunge, then come out of the lunge as you draw back with the tubing bringing it right underneath your arm. Drive thoracic rotation with your opposite arm, so your shoulders turn and the arms mirror one another as you bring the tubing back. It's very important that you get some good weight transfer into that front leg and then extend through the right hip. To increase the progression of this exercise, increase the tempo so you have to react a little bit more to the pull and the elasticity of the tubing. After completion, do this on both sides with the left leg forward and row with the right arm.
