Figure 8 Squat

This squat sequence uses the kettlebell. A dumbbell will also work, but the handle of the kettlebell makes it much easier to pass from hand to hand as you perform the figure 8 action. First, come down into an isometric squat. Get low, keep the spine long, pass the kettlebell from hand to hand, wrapping them around in a figure 8 movement around the legs and passing it from handle to handle. To progress, start to bring the feet a little wider and go into a lunging action again, passing that kettlebell, staying low, working the back and the core muscles and the hips. Our last progression brings a swing and an explosive element into the movement as you push up off that one leg, drop the kettlebell in between, lower the hips, and drive up again.
