Figure 8 Rear Lunge

by Keli Roberts

Description

The rear lunge is one of the easiest lunges to master, but this exercise progression makes the move more interesting. Using the kettlebell, you'll perform a rear lunge with a figure 8. Now, this really makes you get down in the lunge, helps you bend further, and makes it more effective. Start by stepping back, passing under the leg, and stepping forward. As you do that, keep your spine straight and sink in the hip to get the kettlebell behind the leg. To progress this, add an upper body single arm high pull. Pull up as you step up and start to increase the speed of the movement, which will naturally increase the intensity of the exercise.
