The lat row is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the lats and the upper back. By adding some interesting balance challenges and exercise progressions, we can make this exercise extraordinary. Standing on the leg using the same arm, perform a row and drive the elbow up. As you drive the elbow up, bring that shoulder blade in towards the spine. To progress, add some movement with the lower body by stepping that foot lightly in and stepping it out. Start to load up that front leg and incorporate some balance. The final progression for this exercise is to maintain a T balance and row from there. Now this is a big challenge and takes a lot of core stability. Be sure to master the other progressions before you move to this one.
