Functional Core & strength
Underdeveloped trunk muscles and decreased core muscular endurance are related to low back pain (McGill, S.M., 2007). Core strengthening and stabilization training is comprised of a collaboration of motor control learning, strength and power, endurance types of training. For many people with a history of back pain, it is actually too much muscle activity producing the back pain, as opposed to weak back muscles. This class begins with core strengthening exercises and then continues with exercises which strengthen the rest of the body as well. Excellent for participants of all fitness levels, this class is designed to increase core stability and strength, improve muscular endurance, balance, flexibility, joint stability, and overall strength using body weight, dumbbells, bands and tubing.
