From football fields, tennis courts and Olympic sports, vegetarian athletes are on the rise. This seminar will explore the potential health and exercise performance benefits of a plant-based diet. The quality of the vegetarian diet to meet nutritional needs and support athletic performance will be discussed. Topics include understanding various types of vegetarianism, adequate protein consumption, vitamin and supplementation considerations, along with nutritional strategies and sample meal plans for training and recovering from sports activity.
