012: STOTT PILATES® Postural Analysis and Applications to Pilates Exercises
This hands-on workshop will outline the importance of postural analysis in programming STOTT PILATES workouts. Ideal posture as well as flat back, sway back and kyphosis-lordosis posture types will be reviewed. Trainers will see how muscle imbalances typically manifest in static posture and then practice conducting a postural analysis. Finally, common Pilates exercise choices and modifications to accommodate these imbalances and strategies for restoring muscular balance will be explored.
Upon completion of this preconference session, participants will be able to…
- Review the steps in conducting a formal postural analysis.
- Identify muscular imbalances as they relate to faulty posture.
- Locate specific bony landmarks.
- Determine how postural issues play into exercise programming.
Participants will receive a CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION upon the conclusion of this course.
