011: Spinning® Instructor Orientation (WS)
This 9-hour orientation course is your first step toward becoming a certified Spinning instructor. The course includes instruction on bike setup, the five core movements, hand positions, choosing music and creating a 40-minute Spinning journey. In addition, special attention will be given to safety considerations, teaching techniques, Spinning philosophy and heart rate training. We will also discuss the Spinning three-phase instructor-training program. After completing this Orientation, you are considered a Spinning instructor and can teach Spinning classes as you complete your three-phase training (Orientation is Phase 1). Once you pass an assessment, you are then considered a certified Spinning instructor. Please bring a heart rate monitor, water bottle, energy food, towel, clothes for two rides, bike shorts, stiff-soled shoes, writing implement, notebook and a sweater or light jacket.
Half-hour lunch is on your own.
Participants will receive a Spinning Instructor Manual. Certification (includes an instructor card) will be awarded after completing the the self-paced instructor-training program and successfully passing the assessment.
