018: Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Strategies: MMA Fitness for Beginners to Pros (WS)
Learn how to take advantage of the fastest growing sport in the world! The growth of mixed
martial arts (MMA) is creating a great need for experienced, skilled and scientifically-minded
MMA conditioning coaches for this exciting sport. This interactive workshop explores the science
and application for training these unconventional, high-intensity workouts. Learn the principles
of training top-level athletes or fitness enthusiasts who just want to train like a champion.
High-intensity circuits will be discussed as well as many of the common training tools such as
Olympic lifting, power lifting, SAQ drills, kettlebells and Suspension Training®. In addition, you’ll
discover how to properly progress individuals so as to maximize performance and minimize
injury. We will also explore how various martial arts training drills—boxing, muay thai, Brazilian
jiu jitsu, kickboxing and judo—can add a new dimension to anyone’s workout.
Half-hour lunch is on your own.
Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
