400: Balance Training for the Older Athlete (Boomerthlete)

As more aging Baby Boomers continue to increase their athletic ability, there is a need to incorporate specific balance training into a regular exercise routine. Healthy adults can benefit from a variety of balance-specific training techniques to improve postural stability, which may improve performance and prevent injury, including falls. This workshop will discuss the scientific basis for progressive balance training and describe a variety of tools and exercises to develop balance training programs for older adults.
