2010 conference recap: Over 5,000 attendees gathered in Los Angeles, California on August 4-8, 2010 for the 26th annual IDEA World Fitness Convention. The event took place in the heart of L.A. Despite decrements associated with aging, the ability to adapt to endurance and strength training is well documented in older adults. Exercises modifications and limited mobility and strength issues will be discussed with a view to enhancing core stability, increasing lean muscle mass and range of motion, and improving body awareness. Tips for cuing and correcting to help ensure safety and effectiveness will also be included.
