Juliane "Julz" Arney is a dance-fitness expert who has created class formats for club chains like Crunch® and 24-Hour Fitness®, and has choreographed several DVD programs for consumers and instructors. Debbie Bellenger, MA, is the director of Health Directions at Lexington Medical Center in South Carolina. She currently oversees two wellness centers, two corporate contracts and the LMC employee wellness program. Jenna A. Bell-Wilson, PhD, RD, is the co-author of Energy to Burn: The Ultimate Food and Nutrition Guide to Fuel Your Active Lifestyle and co-founder of the sports nutrition consulting group, Swim, Bike, Run, Eat! Jenna holds a master’s degree in nutrition and a PhD in exercise physiology. She is an Ironman triathlete, a frequent contributor to IDEA Fitness Journal and a presenter at IDEA events.

Leslee Bender is the founder of the Pilates Coach and the Bender Method of Training. With over 25 years experience, Leslee has presented internationally, produced over 25 DVDs and written several articles for IDEA and many other fitness publications. Leslee is the creator of the Bender Ball®, which was voted the 2007 Best Fitness Short Form infomercial.

Lawrence Biscontini, MA, is a world-renowned presenter, trainer, author, movement specialist and spa consultant. Jay Blahnik is a contract athlete for Nike and an advisory board member for Nautilus®. He serves on the BOSU® development team and is a program developer for the Schwinn® indoor cycling program. Douglas Brooks, MS, is the head exercise physiologist and strength and conditioning coach for Mammoth Power Sports. Coach Brooks was inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame in 2007, is the author of 11 books and is a Twist Conditioning senior master coach.

Margie Caldwell-Cooper is a member of the Hydro-Fit education team, a master trainer for The Pilates Coach, a registered yoga teacher and is a frequent guest instructor at Rancho La Puerta in Tecate, Mexico. With over 28 years in the fitness industry, Margie has worked with a variety of exercise participants as a personal trainer, group fitness and aquatics instructor and program director. She is the recipient of AEA’s 2006 Global Aquatic Fitness Professional of the Year award.

Anthony Carey, MA, holds a master’s degree in biomechanics and athletic training and owns Function First in San Diego, California. Nicole "Nica" Cavegn, MA, is the owner of Move2Grow—Life Coaching and Cardio Dance. Scott Cheatham, DPT, is the owner of Bodymechanix Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy in Torrance, California. He holds a doctorate in physical therapy, is a board-certified specialist in orthopedics and a certified athletic trainer. The author of several chapters and articles on the topics of orthopedics, vestibular balance, and health and fitness, Scott is also a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Athletic Training, and the Strength and Conditioning Journal, and on the editorial review board for NSCA’s Performance Training Journal.

Christina Christie, PT, is the president of Pelvic Solutions, LLC and inventor of the Pelvicore™. She is a senior physical therapist at the outpatient rehabilitation department of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. Christina specializes in the evaluation and treatment of women’s health issues, orthopedics and sports-related injuries. She is also a childbirth educator and has lectured extensively on the evaluation and treatment of women’s health for the APTA, IDEA and in other settings.

Laurie Cingle, MEd, is a fitness business success coach and club consultant. She specializes in creating successful club program champions, developing non-dues revenue profit centers (especially personal training and weight management), establishing club market differentiation and designing programs that result in profit and retention. Laurie is the recipient of the IHRSA Fitness Director of the Year award and has led highly successful clubs to break industry records and set them on a path for long-term success in programming.

Paul Ciske, PhD, owner of Your Well-Being, has more than 20 years experience as an exercise physiologist, personal trainer and movement specialist. Paul is also a MAT Jumpstart and RTS® “1,2,3” instructor, as well as a Level 3 Z-Health professional trainer.

Michele Clemens-Silence, MA, is a 23-year fitness professional, trainer, educator, writer and CEC provider. She is the president of Aerobic Fitness Consultants and the creator of KID-FIT™ physical education classes for preschoolers. Kathy Corey is the owner and director of West Coast Pilates. She has been a Pilates teacher and an active member and leader in the Pilates community for almost 30 years. Kathy serves on the advisory boards for Inner IDEA® and Pilates Style magazine. In addition, Kathy was selected by IDEA as one of 10 people in the world “Who Inspire the World to Fitness®” for 2007.

Rodney Corn, MA, is an adjunct faculty member at the California University Pennsylvania and the University of San Francisco in the schools’ exercise science departments. He has extensive international experience in teaching and developing curriculum for fitness, athletic performance and corrective exercise. Rodney is a former collegiate athlete, a bodybuilder, a published author and a contributor to numerous industry publications.

Leigh Crews is the owner of Think-GPS™ Adventure Training and Dynalife, Inc. Michol Dalcourt is an educator, author, trainer, inventor and industry leader in human movement and performance training. Based in San Diego, California, Michol is the author of numerous articles on human design and function, the creator of a series of performance videos and the developer of an athletic model for high-performance training (the RMA model). He holds a degree in exercise science, is adjunct faculty with the University of San Francisco and is PTontheNET.com’s 2003 Presenter of the Year.

Laurie Denomme is the assistant director of operations for the Aquatic Exercise Association as well as a certified fitness instructor and personal trainer. She is the director of program development for Aquatic Options Education and the co-author of a book on aquatic fitness for special populations and postrehabilitative clients. Laurie travels internationally to share her unique aquatic training methods.

Amy Dixon is the group fitness manager for Equinox in Santa Monica, California, and is the official spokesperson for Women’s Health magazine. She holds a degree in exercise science and has been in the fitness industry for more than 15 years. Amy is also a fitness DVD star and choreographer, a BOSU®, Schwinn® Cycling, Gymstick and GRAVITY® master trainer, and the writer and former director of a wellness program established for the national organization Senior Friends.

Shawn Dolan, PhD, RD, is an assistant professor in the kinesiology department at California State University, Long Beach. Shawn’s research focuses on the role nutrition and exercise play in performance and wellness with an emphasis on endurance athletes and fitness professionals.

Todd Durkin, MA, is a human performance specialist and owns Fitness Quest 10, a world-class training facility in San Diego, California. An international teacher through Todd Durkin Enterprises, he has 26 videos on athlete performance, massage therapy and bodywork. Todd trains dozens of elite, high-profile NFL and MLB athletes and is the head of the Under Armour® performance training council. He is the 2004 IDEA Personal Trainer of the Year and 2005 ACE Personal Trainer of the Year.

Chris Ecklund, MA, is the owner of Prevail Conditioning in Santa Barbara, California. He works with amateur and elite athletes and specializes in enhanced performance, injury reduction and improved movement function. Terry Eckmann, PhD, is an associate professor at Minot State University and has over 25 years experience in the fitness industry. She authored chapters for the ACSM personal training manual and health fitness management text. Terry also serves on the ICAA advisory board and hosts KX Eye on Fitness for her local CBS TV network station. In addition, Terry received the IDEA Make Fitness Happen Award, the Club Industry Distinguished Business Award and an MSU Faculty Achievement Award.

Carrie Ekins, MA, is the owner and education coordinator of Global Wellness, a fitness and wellness consulting company. Leah Esplen is the owner of MommyMoves Pre- and Postnatal Fitness in Vancouver, British Columbia. Bob Esquerre, MA, is a world-renowned fitness business planner, and a leading educator, personal trainer and indoor cycling instructor. He specializes in training managers and personal trainers and has enjoyed great success as a “turn-around” business expert. Bob is an active participant in the national and international lecture circuits, and has been recognized by IHRSA as a subject-matter expert on personal training.

MaDonna Grimes, MFA, is the founder and director of the MaDonna Grimes Dance Fitness Theatre Company in Los Angeles, California. Jeff Groh is the owner of Authentic Motion in San Diego, California. He holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and is a graduate of the Gray Institute. Rael Isacowitz, MA, is the founder of BASI™ Pilates (Body Arts and Science International). He is an internationally-recognized teacher of teachers and an expert in Pilates. Darren Jacobson is the innovator of the franchise personal training concept for Virgin Active South Africa, where he manages over 750 personal trainers in 88 health clubs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in human movement science and is a featured writer for numerous industry publications. In addition, Darren sits on the IDEA Personal Training Committee and has presented at fitness conventions across South Africa, Canada and the United States.

Having coached in the NHL for 11 years, Peter has worked with over 700 professional athletes, including league MVPs Mark Messier (hockey), Justin Morneau (baseball) and Hakkem Olajuwon (basketball). He has published over 400 papers, 10 books and 19 DVDs on athlete development. Peter was honored with the National Strength and Conditioning Association's 1998 President’s Award and the Can-Fit-Pro 2003 Specialty Presenter of the Year award.

Helen Vanderburg is the owner of Heavens Fitness and Heavens International consulting. She is the 2005 IDEA Instructor of the Year, the 1996 IDEA Program Director of the Year, and a two-time Can-Fit-Pro Presenter of the Year. Helen holds a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, is a past world champion in synchronized swimming and is a certified yoga and Pilates instructor.

Amanda Vogel, MA, is a fitness professional and the owner of Active Voice, a writing, editing and consulting service for fitness professionals. She writes for IDEA, Health, Prevention, and Self, and has co-authored books on postnatal fitness and yoga. With a master’s degree in human kinetics, Amanda has worked in the fitness industry for more than 15 years, including time spent as a program director and vice president for a chain of all-women clubs in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Tamilee Webb, MA, is the CEO of Webb International, Inc., a company that mentors other fitness professionals by producing, directing and marketing other talent for the consumer retailer. Tamilee is best known for her Buns of Steel series that has sold more then 10 million copies worldwide. She is the recipient of numerous awards for outstanding achievement in the field of personal fitness, including the 1993 IDEA Fitness Instructor of the Year award, and the 1992 Self Magazine Award for Best Lower Body Exercise for her third in a series of 22 award-winning Buns of Steel videos. Tamilee was inducted into the Fitness Hall of Fame in 2008. She holds a master’s degree in exercise science.

Derrick Wilburn, MBA, is co-pioneering the nation’s first mobile fitness training licensing system and has co-authored a series of books that present a detailed path for fitness professionals to make the transition from club trainer to successful business entrepreneur. He is the founder of Wholly Fit and the Colorado Dance Machine, and is a partner in Achieve Fitness USA and Fundamental Fitness Products.

Karen Wischmann is a 15-year industry veteran who has managed over 60 gyms in her career. Before joining Total Woman, Wischmann worked for Gold’s Gym® International as the vice president of sales and operations, and was responsible for the development and distribution of the Gold’s Gym training system and operating platform. She also spent time as a district manager for 24-Hour Fitness® and as the COO for Sta-Fit Health Clubs.

Chuck Wolf, MS, is the director of Human Motion Associates, in Orlando, Florida, consulting with clients ranging from rehabilitation settings to elite, professional athletes. Chuck is one of the industry’s top educators with his expertise in functional anatomy, movement analysis, function and advanced program design. He holds a master’s degree in exercise physiology and brings a new approach to how we look and train the body.

Tal Yahalom is a course coordinator and an administrative manager for B.Education conventions in Israel. She is also an experienced and well-known presenter for the international aerobic conventions in Israel.
