"The IDEA Personal Trainer Institute was the best conference I attended in the last 4 years. The presenters were highly educated and experienced in their fields and all the sessions were very informational. I left IDEA with additional motivation and knowledge to bring back to my clients."

Sessions
All Sessions
The Summit is where authentic sport-conditioning education comes to life in this action-packed preconference offering. Inspiring lectures and challenging practical sessions that are sure to add new drills and exercises to your toolbox will be the focus of the day, with special emphasis placed on the Twist training paradigm—movement, strength and balance.
Historically, back care and rehabilitation strategies have focused on corrective exercises that engage the lower back in isolation and in one plane of motion. The lower back is greatly dependent upon the proper functioning of the feet, pelvis, thoracic spine and shoulder girdle. This session will explore these interrelationships and create strategies to improve and strengthen motion throughout the entire movement chain. Trainers will learn how to develop a tri-plane approach to lower-back health by blending traditional exercises and progressing to integrated movements.
This hands-on workshop will outline the importance of postural analysis in programming STOTT PILATES workouts. Ideal posture as well as flat back, sway back and kyphosis-lordosis posture types will be reviewed. Trainers will see how muscle imbalances typically manifest in static posture and then practice conducting a postural analysis. Finally, common Pilates exercise choices and modifications to accommodate these imbalances and strategies for restoring muscular balance will be explored.
