8 Misconceptions in Women’s fitness

Fitness has become a huge deal lately. The gyms are filling and many people have started taking this sport seriously, which is really good. If you want to shape your body, this is the sport you need. When it comes to women, they often think of fitness as some very complicated (nuclear physics type of complicated) phenomenon. Let’s get one thing straight – fitness is really simple and it is practically the same for both genders. Of course, there are some obvious differences, but the base is the same for everyone.

Lessons from a hike

A few weeks ago, a few friends and I went for a hike.  It was a beautiful sunny day, and we were excited to be on a new trail.  We had an idea of where we were going and which trails we needed to follow in order to get us to where we wanted to go.  We took a picture of the map so we could have it on our phones and started out.  It was about a nine-mile hike, and we were confident of our ability to read a map and follow the trail markers!  All was well as we hiked and enjoyed the scenery and the company of each other.

Kettlebell are for everyone!

Kettlebells were developed in Russia in the 1700s, primarily for weighing crops.  Seems the farmers enjoyed the physical benefits kettlebells provided and in time we now have the Sport of Kettlebell! I absolutely love training with them as do my clients/members.  Why not?  They provide benefits that most other weight training does not.  This iron globe with a handle on it addresses all components of fitness!  KBs are great for 1:1 personal training, group environment and training sport specific.    LOVE Kettlebell training!

Urban Boot Camp

Coach Kevin is leading a great Urban Boot Camp.  The 4 week outdoor camp was such a hit the recruits asked for round two!  Seems they like being challenged and like to run, jump, crawl around on the ground.  Most importantly they have created a bond and are and making great headway in their fitness levels.  HOOAH!

Good morning folks, Thanks for hanging in there! For fighting the fight. For being positive when you'd rather tell the world to take a long hike off a short pier. My name is Tanner and I’m in your corner. I'm here to tell you it's worth it. I appreciate and respect what you're doing. Please leave a comment (praise or prayer), if you can hear me now!

L.I.F.E - all you have to do is show up

L.I.F.E - all you have to do is show up L - live in the moment I - invest in interesting things F - focus on yourself E - enjoy the things you do At times life seems to get in the way. Menopause sure gets in my way sometimes.

I can't.........

I tell people all the time that fitness is not a's a way of's all about the journey....blah...blah...blah! Well, just so you know that ALL of us are in this together, I have a short (and hopefully, "enlightening") story to share:
