Stepping Out Of Your Comfort Zone

I was recently asked to do something that is completley outside of my comfort zone.  My initial reaction was NO, I can't possibly do that!  Then I took a deep breath and thought, why not?  It will take a lot of effort but it really sounds like something you would enjoy.  So I went for it.   

Back to School - Keeping Phyiscal Activity in your Child's Day

School’s back in session & that means more sitting for a population that needs to move to be mentally & physically healthy! Have you been keeping your kids active this summer? If so, you may be concerned about how to keep that up now. Students need at least 60 minutes a day of movement. If your student is not in involved in a sport where are some ways to keep them active. Get them outside, turn the TV off , start the day off with a stretch. We are the only mammals that don't do that! Animals actively stretch automatically when they get up.

XTREME Session #1 is history

Although this was our first session these women were impressive. Following body comps and introductions the majoritiy participated in an Intro To Kettlebell Session. Doing so prepared them  for what's coming down the pipe.  The others rocked a water rower/kettlebell circuit.  Each group is assigned a trainer.  A portion of the training session is set for the group to discuss that days lession. FB groups allow us to break out with our coaching for some individual team coaching.  It hasn't happened yet but I suspect a bit of team competition is in our future.

Hiking in Acadia National Park

About a week ago we have the opportunity to visit our son Kieran who was interning in Bath, Maine this summer. We were able to climb, I say climb because hiking would not be the word, as there were no switch backs Cadillac Mt. in Acadia National Park. We had a great day with Kieran and a marvelous day to hike. We visited 6 different cities in Maine, each one more beautiful than the next! PLEASE go out and enjoy what nature has to offer. New Bootcamp classes start next week!

I'm starting two new bootcamp classes in LA. One will run Monday/Wednesday at 8am the other Tuesday/Friday at 7pm starting this coming week. Classes are $125 for 8 sessions or $20/drop in. It's good for all ages and levels. You'll even find some familiar UCB faces I've been torturing for some time now.
