I think, in the big scheme of things my children are pretty active.Winter is tough though, especially this half rainy, half snowy start of winter where they really can't go outside.  But summer, they're always outside doing something.

I am NOT the best writer.  In fact, thank goodness for blogging so I have a place to practice at improving for the past few years.  But when my first daughter began school two years ago, I wanted to send her off when positive thoughts and loving words of wisdom so I would write the occasional lunch box note "Have a great day!"  and "We love you!" with little pictures of stick figure smiley faces and sun beams.

Kids, Allergies and Weight

I read an interesting article and research on kids with allergies.  I was always under-weight as a kid.  I'm sure my knees were wider than my calfs and thighs. :)  I didn't have many food choices. Celery, lettuce, potatoes, broccoli, bread and meat were my standard foods. I was and still am allergic to well over 20 common foods. 

Fitness for Homeless

Hey everyone!I’ve been volunteering my fitness and wellness services at one of the Homeless Shelters in San Jose.  The women and children have been giving me such positive feedback on the benefits of the activities we do together.  They have been feeling more optimistic and are learning about the importance of fitness and taking “mental vacations”. Some have requested I come more often and others suggested I expand to other shelters in the area. So, I’m doing it!
