The time that is spent by parent with their children is one of the most important for the development of the child as we as increasing the bonding ties between the two. Exercising for kids has also been cited as one of the most essential art in their overall growth. This is especially so when the time that is sent during the exercises is shared between the parent and the child.
Why is it so important to me that my daughter likes to exercise? And, by "exercising", I mean both activities, structured around the gyms, studios, and soccer and other fields, and the games and other active pursuits, which she likes while not even realizing that she is working out (such as trampoline jumping or running with the dog).
I think, in the big scheme of things my children are pretty active.Winter is tough though, especially this half rainy, half snowy start of winter where they really can't go outside. But summer, they're always outside doing something.
In the wake of a New Year and our personal resolutions, we sometimes forget about what's best for the others around us. In the case of parents in the United States, their kids should be a top priority.
I am NOT the best writer. In fact, thank goodness for blogging so I have a place to practice at improving for the past few years. But when my first daughter began school two years ago, I wanted to send her off when positive thoughts and loving words of wisdom so I would write the occasional lunch box note "Have a great day!" and "We love you!" with little pictures of stick figure smiley faces and sun beams.
Bullying has evolved to dangerous levels for kids. The most recent method of bullying is taking place against kids that can become severly sick or even die from anaphylaxis due to food allergies. Please click on the 30 second clip or the full PSA (1:33 minutes) for more information. This is especially helpful for those of you who have children or careers where you work with children.
I read an interesting article and research on kids with allergies. I was always under-weight as a kid. I'm sure my knees were wider than my calfs and thighs. :) I didn't have many food choices. Celery, lettuce, potatoes, broccoli, bread and meat were my standard foods. I was and still am allergic to well over 20 common foods.
Hey everyone!I’ve been volunteering my fitness and wellness services at one of the Homeless Shelters in San Jose. The women and children have been giving me such positive feedback on the benefits of the activities we do together. They have been feeling more optimistic and are learning about the importance of fitness and taking “mental vacations”. Some have requested I come more often and others suggested I expand to other shelters in the area. So, I’m doing it!
