If you concentrate on health as your goal by moving your body everyday and introducing more whole, natural foods into your diet then weight loss just happens as a by-product (this fact is key to remember). If you focus on weight loss then people tend to get caught up in the numbers....the scale, body measurements, weighting food etc. It doesn't have to be that complicated.

It is challenging to stay on track with eating and exercising on a day to day basis, but when life throws you curve balls with work demands, health issues, and family needs, it can be almost impossible. Almost. With some planning and care, you can create a menu with healthy meals that are quick to prepare and take time to schedule "me" time to get your exercise. So, why do I find myself and so many others lost and unmotivated when we do lose our way and stray from being "on track". I call it the "unforgiveable factor".
Drink plenty of water every day.Take a multivitamin & fish oil supplement every day.Eat when you are hungry, stop when you are full.Focus on lean meats & veggies, nuts & seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar.Fad diets do not work. Healthy eating for children doesn’t have to be confusing, or just plain nasty for kids. Snacks and lunches can be nutritious and delicious for all children with diet restrictions such as food allergies, or religious constraints. Let’s face it most children do not want to eat hummus and celery. If you are fortunate enough to introduce children to this high protein snack and they like it what a great treat. Here are some realistic options that are quick, easy and tasty.
For those of you still waiting for the right time to start an exercise program, what are you waiting for? Are you waiting until Monday so you can start the week off right? Or maybe you're busy at work, so your waiting until things calm down. Or maybe you're waiting until the beginning of the month so you can start fresh. Or maybe you're waiting for the kids to get out of school. How has that been working for you so far? How long have you been waiting for the right time? How much weight and inches have you lost? How much better do you feel?
Today is May First. It seems like the month of April just flew by. At the end of a month I always find myself reflecting on what has happened over the past month. This month I find myself thinking about costs and benefits. Do you realize that EVERYTHING you do has a cost and benefit? It's true. Think about it... When you have children you have the cost of time and money and the benefit of raising a wonderful child and all the love on the way.
I'm sick. I don't get sick often, but here I am, laying on the couch and wishing that I was feeling better. At least not feeling well gives me a chance to catch up on a few things. I've been reading my fitness magazines and I am watching some specials on Netflicks. I have found two that really peaked my interest. The first is Hungry for change. In it there were experts in diet and nutrition. Of these experts, the two women battled back stage 4 cancer and at least three of the men had lost about 100 pounds each. One of the men lost several hundred pounds.
