Exercise a Fountain of Youth for Older Women?

Let your older female clients know that the exercise they are doing with you today may give them many more tomorrows, according to a research report published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, May 14.

Edward W. Gregg, PhD, of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, and fellow researchers discovered that women who were previously sedentary and started to exercise had a 48 percent lower risk of death than their inactive counterparts. Unfortunately, the study showed that the association between exercise and longer life wasn’t as strong for women over the age of 75 and those in poor health.
